We are a broker

Ironwood Marine acts as an intermediary between vessel owners or operators and their customers. We do not own, operate, manage or crew tugs, barges or other vessels, and we are not a party to a charter unless we say so in writing.

No guarantees

Information about equipment, availability, rates and schedules comes from owners, operators and customers. We pass it on in good faith, but we do not guarantee that it is complete or accurate. We do not guarantee the condition, capacity, location, availability, performance, insurance or regulatory status of any vessel. Each party should check these things for itself.

Nothing is binding until it is in writing

Nothing on this website is an offer that can be accepted. A deal is made only when the owner and the customer both agree to the terms in a written fixture recap or charter contract.

Fees

We may earn a commission or fee when a deal is made. The amount, and who pays it, will be stated in the written terms of the deal.

Laws and regulations

Each party is responsible for following the laws and rules that apply to its vessels and cargo, including U.S. coastwise (Jones Act) requirements where they apply.
